This is a very ancient Chinese system of healing and re-balancing for mind and body. The exercises involve specific movements and a sound for each of the internal organs and their meridians:-
Liver and Gall Bladder
Heart and Small Intestines
Stomach and Spleen
Lungs and Large Intestines
Kidneys and Bladder
Triple Heater
The shape of the mouth and position of the tongue is integral to producing the correct resonance for each organ. This sound therapy is a vibrational medicine and a health practice whereby the vibration created within the organ and meridian releases toxins and stagnant energy.
As well as helping to alleviate any physical problems with the specific organs it also promotes good health for eyes, nose, throat, etc, and skin conditions such as eczema.
In addition, there is a psychological or emotional element associated with each of the organs and meridians. Tai Chi and Qi Gong exercises generally assist with psychological well-being but this system deals with them specifically. With regular practice, anger, worry, sadness, grief and fear can all be released through the Healing Sounds system, as balance is restored.
It also incorporates Five Element Theory, whereby each organ is connected with an element (wood, fire, earth, metal or water), a period of the year and a time of day. Further investigation of this aspect of Chinese medicine is beyond the scope of this post but more specialist knowledge can be found elsewhere.
Detailed workshops are held from time to time or by request.
